The Himachal Pradesh State government has launched various scholarships that provide benefits to the students, allowing them to complete their primary and post education. The scheme will significantly assist the financially unstable students to allow them to complete their education without going through financial struggles. About HP Scholarship 2025

The HP Scholarship portal is an online application specifically for Himachal Pradesh students. The HP Scholarship intends to provide financial assistance to students from Himachal Pradesh. Five universities, two medical colleges, four dentistry colleges, and two engineering colleges are among the states and many educational institutions. In addition, the state has developed many HP scholarship initiatives to ensure that kids have a bright future. Objective of HP Scholarships 

The HP Scholarship intends to provide financial assistance to students from Himachal Pradesh. These programmes are designed exclusively for kids who are economically disadvantaged and require financial aid to achieve a literate future. Scholarships may be provided by the government, the state, or technical education schemes. HP would provide the scholars with a scholarship of up to INR 75,000 each year. Because the state is home to several prestigious institutions, many students have benefited from HP scholarships. There are more than 25 scholarships available in the state.

What is Pre Matric Scholarship?

Pre-matric scholarship is a scholarship that is introduced by the Himachal Pradesh State government that provides financial assistance and various other benefits to students who are currently studying in school. With the help of this scholarship, the Himachal Pradesh State government will allow the financially weak students to get primary education and complete their class 12th examination without any financial struggle. All the students who are currently studying in classes 1st to 12th in Himachal Pradesh state are studying in government or government-recognised schools, are eligible under the scholarship. The scholarship will help the students to achieve their dreams and build their careers. 

What is Post Matric Scholarship?

The post-matric scholarship is a scholarship launched by the Himachal Pradesh State government to provide financial assistance to students who are pursuing higher education. The financial assistance will assist the students and allow them to pursue their education after completing the 12th class examination. All the students who are pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or a postgraduate degree are eligible to avail the benefits of the scholarship. The financial assistance under the scholarship is based on the kind of course the student is pursuing.

More than 25 scholarships are offered to students, each with its own set of criteria and requirements. The state government has been working hard to make HP scholarships more accessible to eligible students. Benefits of HP Scholarship

The HP scholarship was intended to help students who come from financially difficult circumstances, are members of a minority population, or belong to a reserved category with limited resources. These have also been adopted for pupils with disabilities. All of these programmes are designed to strengthen education and encourage deserving kids to pursue a decent education and a successful future. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for any of these scholarships, students must meet specific requirements. The qualifying criteria for these various scholarships vary based on the financial and social position of students, with the exception that the student must be a genuine student studying within or outside of India with a valid AADHAR (UID/EID) certificate. For each HP scholarship mentioned, the criteria have been listed in detail below.

• The applicant should belong to the SC Community.
• The student must be among the top 1250 meritorious students as determined by the HPBoard of School Education’s Matric test results.

Dr. Ambedkar Medhavi Chattervriti Yojana for OBC Students

The student must be among the top 1000 meritorious students as determined by the HPBoard of School Education’s Matric test results.

Swami Vivekanand Utkrisht Yojana

The student must be among the top 2000 meritorious students as determined by the HP Board of School Education’s Matric test results.

Thakur Sen Negi Utkrisht Chattervriti Yojana

The student must be one of the top 100 girls or boys from the Tribal Community of HP, as determined by the results of the HP Board of School Education’s Matric test.

Kalpana Chawala Chattervriti Yojana

• The award is available to female students.
• The candidate must be among the top 2000 students in the HP Board of School Education’s merit list for 10+2.

Mukhiya Mantri Protsahan Yojana (One-time Incentive)

• The candidate must be a student enrolled in 9th grade through university.
• The student must be a member of an IRDP household.

Sainik School Sujanpur Tihara Scholarship

• The candidate must be a Sainik School Sujanpur Tihara student.
• The applicant must be in grades 6 through 12.

Rashtriya Indian Military College Scholarship (Only for RIMC Dehradun)

• The candidate must be a student at Dehradun’s Rashtriya Indian Military College.

NDA Scholarship Scheme (Only for NDA Khadakwasla)

Financial Assistance to the Children of the Armed Forces personnel killed/ disabled during the different war/ operation

• The applicant must be the child of an Armed Forces member who was killed or handicapped during a war or operation.

Mukhya Mantri Gyandeep Yojana

• The candidate must be a student enrolled in a recognised Indian institution studying a professional/technical or higher education programme.

Indira Gandhi Utkrisht Chattervriti Yojana for Post plus two Students

• The candidate must be a male topper from the HP Board of School Education’s merit lists for 10+2 Arts, Science, and Commerce, OR a topper (both male and female) from the HPU, Shimla merit lists for B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com.
• Any academic or professional route should be pursued by the student.

Lahaul Spiti Pattern

• The candidate must be a member of a tribal community residing in a Himachal Pradesh tribal region.

Girls Attendance Scholarship

• The candidate must be a female student enrolled in a recognised school.
• For ten months, the student’s attendance should be at least 90%.

National Scheme of Incentive to girls for Secondary Education(NSIGSE) (CSS)

• The candidate must be a female student.
• The student must have passed the middle school exams and be enrolled in the ninth grade.

Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC/ST Students (9th&10th) CSS

• The candidate must be a student in grades 9 and 10 at a government or recognised school.
• The student’s yearly family income for the SC category should not exceed INR 2.5 lakh per year, and for the ST category, it should not exceed INR 2 lakh per year.

Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students (1st to 10th) CSS

• The candidate must be a student in grades 1 through 10 in a government or recognised school.
• The student’s annual household income should not exceed 2.5 lakhs per year.

Post-Matric Scholarship to SC/ST/OBC Students (CSS)

• Students should be enrolled in government/government-aided/recognized/private institutions.
• The student’s annual household income should not exceed INR 2.5 lakh.

Post-Matric Scholarship to OBC Students (CSS)

• Post-matriculation students are eligible to apply for the award.
• The student’s yearly family income, including his, should not exceed INR 1.5 lakh per year.
• Students who are employed are also able to apply.

Dr. Ambedkar Post-Matric Scholarship for Economically Backward Classes (EBC)

• The student’s yearly family income (including himself, if he is employed) should not exceed INR 1 lakh per year.

Upgradation of Merit of SC/ST Students (CSS) (Only for GSSS Bharmour, Chamba)

• The students must attend school in Bharmour, Chamba.
• On the basis of the merit list of middle standard examinations, the student should be admitted to GSSS Bharmour, Chamba in class 9th.

Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme for Students belonging to Minority Community (CSS)

• The student must be a member of a minority group (Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, etc.).
• A degree or post-graduate level technical professional training from a recognised institution is required.
• The student’s annual household income should not exceed INR 2.5 lakh per year.
• The student must have received a minimum of 50% in the previous qualifying examinations.

Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme to Students belonging to Minority Community

• The student must be a member of a minority group (Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, etc.).
• They must be enrolled in government or accredited schools, colleges, or institutions, and must be pursuing technical or vocational courses.
• The student’s annual household income should not exceed INR 2 lakh per year.
• The student must have received a minimum of 50% in the last qualifying examination.

Maulana Azad National Scholarship Scheme for Meritorious girl students belonging to Minorities

• A female from a minority group (Muslim/ Sikh/ Christian/ Buddhist/ Jain/ Parsi) should apply.
• They must be enrolled in government / accredited schools, colleges, or institutions for classes 12th through Ph.D., including technical/ vocational courses.
• The student’s annual household income should not exceed INR 1 lakh per year.
• The student must have received a minimum of 50% in the last qualifying examination.

National Means Cum Merit Scholarships

• The student must come from a financially disadvantaged household with an annual income of less than INR 1.5 lakh.
• The applicant must be a student in the eighth grade or below who has dropped out of school.

Scholarship to Disabled Students

• Trust Fund– The student must be disabled and pursuing a degree or post-graduate professional and technical courses at a recognized institution.
• National Fund– The student must be disabled and enrolled in a post-matric professional or technical course lasting more than one year.
• Post Matric or Pre-Matric– The student must be disabled and have completed either a post-matric or pre-matric schooling.

Dr. Ambedkar Pre-Matric Scholarship for DNTs (CSS)

• The student must be a DNT student studying pre-matriculation education.
• The student’s annual household income should not exceed INR 2 lakh per year.

Dr. Ambedkar Post-Matric Scholarship for DNTs (CSS)

• The student must be in the DNT category and studying post-secondary education.
• The student’s annual household income should not exceed INR 2 lakh per year.

Technical Education HP Scholarship Schemes

Scholarships for PG/Degree & Engineering Level Courses

• The student must come from a financially disadvantaged family and be a genuine Himachal Pradesh resident or a ward of HP government personnel.
• The student must have received at least 60% in the previous qualifying examinations.
• They must be enrolled in a postgraduate programme or a degree programme in engineering, technology, or architecture, or any other similar programme authorized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
• The student’s annual household income should not exceed INR 3.6 lakh per year.

Scholarships for Diploma Courses

• The student must come from a financially disadvantaged family and be a genuine Himachal Pradesh resident or a ward of HP government personnel.
• The student must have received at least 60% on the last qualifying examination.
• They must be enrolled in Diploma-level Engineering/Technology programs, including Architecture, or any other similar course recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
• The student’s annual household income should not exceed INR 36,000 per year.

Scholarships for ITI Students

• ITI students are eligible for the grant.

Documents Required

To be eligible for the HP scholarship, you must be a genuine Himachal Pradesh resident, and other information varies based on the scholarship plan selected by the student. The following is a general list of documents that a student must submit in support of his or her application. As the chosen scheme is changed, the criteria may vary as well.

Application Procedure for HP Scholarship

In order to encourage education in the state, each HP scholarship accepts applications from students of various backgrounds. The newly installed HP ePass scholarship site makes applying for these awards simple and quick for students. However, the National Scholarship Portal is currently accepting applications for the majority of federal and state-sponsored awards (NSP). The following is a step-by-step guide on how to apply for an HP scholarship via the HP ePass Scholarship Portal and the National Scholarship Portal.

HP Scholarship Application through HP ePass Portal

• The applicant first visits the Himachal Pradesh website of Himachal Pradesh epass Scholarship portal.

• The homepage will appear on your screen where you have to click on schemes offered to view the list of scholarship schemes.
• Now click on a Student’s login in order to register yourself.
• On the student’s login page you have to enter your user id and password which will be provided through the specified phone number and email ID of the student.

Note– Keep the User ID and Password secure; they will be needed to follow the scholarship application’s progress.

• If you are a new student, click “New Student Registration” to be sent to the next page.
• If you do not have an Aadhar card, choose ‘No’ and produce Electronic Identification as evidence of identity before completing the registration.

• After you’ve finished the registration process by giving accurate and vital information, attach all of the papers required for the HP Scholarship application. Make sure that all of your papers are genuine and legitimate; they will be checked before the registration is finalized, and any or all invalid data will be rejected right away.
• In the application form, the applicant must fill in the following information:

• The status of your application may be checked at any time by going into the HP Epass Scholarship Portal using the same ID and password you used to register.
• After submitting the Online Application Form successfully, it will be promptly delivered to the student’s chosen Institute for verification.

HP Scholarship Application through National Scholarship Portal

• STEP 1: All the students who want to apply for the HP Scholarship 2025 are requested to visit the NSP website.

• STEP 2: Once the students reach the homepage of the official website, they must locate and click on the option called “register”.

• STEP 3: A guideline form will appear on your desktop screen the citizens must read carefully and scroll down, and click on the option “next”. 
• STEP 4: A new page will appear on your desktop screen the students must enter their mobile number and OTP that they have received on the registered mobile number.
• STEP 5: The students must enter the captcha code and click on the option “verify” to move on to the next page. 
• STEP 6: Now the students must complete the eKYC process by entering the details that are asked and click on the option “next”. 
• STEP 7: Now on the last page the students must enter all the additional details including their address, education and bank account details.
• STEP 8: After entering all the details, the students can click on the option “submit” to complete their process.
