Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the Sussex India Scholarship is listed below:
- Applicants must be citizens of India.
- Applicants should be classified as “overseas” for paying the university fees which are decided by Sussex.
- A full-time Master’s course must be joined in September 2025 and the offer should be accepted.
- Applicants must be self-financing.
Note: If an offer is given from the Business School, then this scholarship can be taken along with the Business School International Masters Award (2025), and both will be used together. Also, if you are offered a seat in the School of Engineering & Informatics, then this scholarship can be combined with Engineering & Informatics International Masters Award (2025) as well.
Ineligibility Criteria
The ineligibility criteria for the scholarship program are as listed below:
- Full tuition fees are being paid by a sponsor, and you don’t have to give the deposit, then this scholarship is not allowed.
- Students coming from the University of Sussex International Study Centre (ISC) will not be counted for this scholarship.
- It is not given for Certificates or Diplomas, like PGCE, and such courses are not accepted.
- Any course that is at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) is also not included.
- Degrees from IDS are not part of this scholarship offer.
- Those doing Early Years Education, where teacher status is also given, won’t be eligible.
- A student doing Social Work and getting NHS bursary is not allowed too.
- This scholarship will not be given for any online course, even if it is full-time.
- School Direct teaching courses are not counted in eligible courses.
- A master’s funded by research councils, such as ESRC with 1+3 funding, is not accepted.
Note: This scholarship is funded by the University of Sussex, so it cannot be taken with other Sussex scholarships like the Chancellor’s International Scholarship. Only one is allowed.
